Parents with small children and busy schedules often need a sufficient place to change their children's diapers while on the go. They also need a light, comfortable way to bring along the supplies they need to do so. To address this issue, I worked with my industrial design classmates Christine You and John Kim to design this backpack for childcare.
The backpack features a foldout crib for a child to sleep in or have his/her diaper changed, side pockets for storage of diapers and other supplies, and a sling design so caretakers can easily remove the bag with one hand while holding a child or supplies in the other.
I made the following technical specification illustrations and we built the functional prototype of the backpack as a group.
